The Department of Management at the AME Zion University has the following as its primary objectives:

•To prepare students for access or entry level positions in government and the private sector.
•To offer students the necessary foundations and prerequisites education for graduate studies and research.
•To provide students the requisite entrepreneur skills for business development

MANG-200/205 PRINCIPLES MANAGEMENT I CR/HRS 3-(Prerequisites Sophomore Standing the function of management, the history and development of management thoughts, the manager, planning, organizing, staffing, Directing and controlling, functional areas of management: Production, marketing, inance and personnel leadership.

MANG -206 PRINCIPLES OF MANAGEMENT II CR/HRS 3( Prerequisites. Sophomore standing Review of the functional areas of management and the responsibility of the Board of Directors.

PREREGUISITES MANG-210 CR/HRS 3-
This course provides practical experience in the application o f acceptable, effective English, organized thinking and practical psychology in solving communication’s problems dealing mainly with Business, Attention will be given to effective written and oral communications in the business community.

MANG -208 DATA BASE MANAGEMENT CR/HRS 3-(Pre. Reg. MANG – 208).
This course provides hands-on introduction to micro-computer spread sheet. It includes creating a work sheet for data analysis integrating information from data base, performance queries, producing reports and working with multiples ile. Offer a working knowledge of commercial data base package (Dbase III Plus).

MANG-305 HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN ORGANIZATION CR/HRS 3- (Pre. Req. Junior Standing)
Analysis of the characteristics of components: leadership style, and effect they have, group dynamics, structural design, and interpersonal dynamics. Research inding in role theory, making and communication, motivation and the classical, behavior, and system, management survey, etc.

MANG 301 RETAIL MANAGEMENT CR/HRS 3-(Pre Reg. MANG 206/210)-
The origin and development of retailing and retail management, product and service assortments, retail buying, selling and operating activities, merchandising pricing, pricing policies, credit and accounting, and salesmanship.

MANG – 307 PRINCIPLES OF BUSINESS LAW I CR/CHRS 3-(Pre. Reg. Junior Standing)
A comprehensive study of law as it relates to business operation. The origin of law, including legal history and philosophy, nature of the judicial process, court system and law-suits. Basic laws relating to contracts, sale of merchandise, torts, legal damages and remedies will be discussed.

MANG-308 PRINCIPLES OF BUSINESS LAW II CR/HRS 3-(Pre-Req. MANG 308)
Fundamental concepts, principles, rules of law applied to business transactions. Operations and termination of a business organization, operational and termination as controlled by statues and common law principles. Basic legal forms for business, sole proprietorship, partnership an corporation. The nature and scope of commercial paper, Etc.

MANG-303 MARKETING MANAGEMENT CR/HR 3-(Pre-Req. MANG 200/206
A study of the introduction to marketing, with emphasis on the basic marketing principles, functional dimensions and marketing role in the society. Focuses is o n the irm’s analysis planning and control policies, and marketing strategies as it relates to market segmentation, project development, pricing, promoting and distribution. Class projects as utilized.

MANG-311 HUMAN RESOURCE/PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT CR/HRS 3-(Pre-Req. Junior Standing)
A study of the personnel functions. Emphasis is placed on the recruitment, selection and training of employees, job evaluation, wage and salary administration as they relate to the effective functioning of an organization. Personal function as it relates to labor laws grievance handing, control negotiation, etc.

MANG-314 SMALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT CR/HRS 3-(Pre-Req. Junior Standing)
The course is geared towards motivating and assisting students to integrate all the skills acquired in other disciplines to start and successfully manage a business on his own. If focuses on the characteristics of an entrepreneur, major sources of opportunities, assessing feasibility of ventures, problems, sources of capital, etc.

MANG-401 STRATEGIC NEGOTIATION CR/HRS 3 PRE-REG. SENIOR STANDING )
Negotiation and mediation skills for promoting shared understanding, overcoming differences, and reaching compromise that produce mutual beneicial tradeoff. Discussion on both upfront and behind the scene components of individuals involve in conlict.

MANG-405 PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT CR/HRS 3-(Pre-Req. MANG 314/306)
A study of the principle of production management subject areas include production planning, plant location, buildings and plants layout, research and development, system analysis, quality control, facility design, capacity planning, investing planning and control systems, cost control. Emphasis is placed on methodologies and techniques of production and operation planning.

MANG-407 QUANTITATIVE APPROACH TO MANAGEMENT CR/HR3 -(Pre-Req. MANAG 203)
A course designed to orientate the student in the nature of mathematical and statistical methods for decision-making. Linear regressions and programming, queuing theory, Game theory, projection evaluation, simulation and analysis variance, simplex method , sensitivity analysis and interpretation of linear programming.

MANG 408 BUSINESS POLICY AND STRATEGY CR/HR 3 (Pre-Req. Senior Standing)
This is designed to integrate knowledge gained in the functional areas of business into the study of the organization as a whole. The major object is to sharpen the student’s diagnostic ability for decision-making with regard to management policy and strategy.

MANG 409 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT CR/HR 3 (Pre-Req. MANG 314/ACCT 202)
This course enhances an understanding of the application of problems in the irm. It involves the management of cash low, can management, sources and uses of funds, types and sources of long term capital, capital building, etc.

MANG-417 RESEARCH METHOD CH/HRS 3 –
The study of research methodology is the knowledge, strategies, methods and techniques by which research is done so as to solve each and every providing problem within society and oriented. The study deals with the signiicance and relevance of research and method, ethics and legal issue in principles of research, documentation, pleasing, sampling, general principles of conducting experiment, method of research, research design and so forth.

MANG 499 THESIS WRITING-CR/HRS3 –
This course deals with the skills,techniques and practicality of Thesis Writing. It emphasizes the transitioning of students with the knowledge and skills acquired in Research Methodology, a per- requisite into this course.
